Payroll
Hello Associates and Supervisors,
I want to acknowledge the recent payroll delays and the stress that comes with that. You deserve reliability and consistency, and I know these delays have been at the least frustrating and financially impactful on your lives.
To be completely transparent: the two biggest culprits here are QuickBooks (with its glacial direct deposit timing) and my own stubbornness in sticking with it far longer than I should have. This combination has created a bottleneck in our system that’s now impossible to ignore. Thankfully, both of these variables are within my control and can be rectified.
I don’t have specifics yet to share, but wanted to let all of you know that I’m taking active steps over the next two weeks to get this fixed by looking at faster, more efficient payroll systems and hiring a specialist so your paychecks land when they should - dependably.
The way the system has [not] worked for us in the past is a misalignment with our mission: "To create opportunities for Associates to earn their licensure with the support of a larger organization, keeping full caseloads while earning a livable wage.”
Unreliable pay periods is not “livable."
I’m genuinely sorry for the added stress this has caused. Thank you for your patience while I wrangle this system into something that actually works for all of us. If you have feedback, ideas, or strong opinions about payroll (or just want to say “told you so”), I’m all ears.
Please feel free to share with me any idea or way that I can repair ruptures (financial, systemic or relational) that have already happened.
Stay tuned for updates soon.
